French football giants Paris Saint Germain, today, battled with Gamba Osaka at the club friendlies at Suita City Stadium in a match which ended with a scoreline of 6 – 2 in favour of PSG.
The thrilling game kicked off at 11:03 (WAT) with the opening signal from Ben Whitehouse who refereed the football match.
PSG and Gamba Osaka both played quite well but the latter seemed not to be so much of a match for the French side as the team was seen making numerous shots at goal, a total of 28 shots were made by the PSG players with 17 on target, and 16 with 8 on target from thier opponents.
Paris Saint Germain’s striker, P. Sarabia, 28 minutes into the first half, opened the show with an amazing finish putting his team to lead. Four minutes later, Neymar also netted cleanly, a penalty awarded to the team, making the scoreline 2 – Nil against Gamba Osaka.
Gamba Osaka on the other hand, were rather motivated than dispirited and continued to press hard for a goal and luck shone on the team at the 34th minute of play, just two minutes after they conceded the second goal, Gamba Osaka’s midfielder K. Kurokawa was able to get the pigskin behind the net of the French side.
It was a fun filled and thrilling first half, as Paris Saint Germain continued to press forward, securing a third goal eight minutes before the end of the first half. PSG player, N. Mendes, dithered not in placing the ball finely past Gamba’s goalkeeper, after receiving a first-class assist from V. Ferreira, scoring the third goal for PSG in the first half of this action-packed event.
Not long after the third goal, Lionel Messi came through with a smart finish from a Neymar assist to get his first goal of the day and the fourth for the team.
The first half was drawn to a close soon after Lionel Messi’s goal and the players were seen back on the pitch after the fifteen minutes rest to kick off the final half of the game.
Neymar Jr., at the 60th minute, scored another superb goal, given the assist from Lionel Messi, making it his second goal for the day.
It was indeed challenging for Gamba Osaka, as thier opponents had taken the lead by far and seemed not to relent. The team coach made a number of substitutions hoping for a revival but the team only managed to get one extra goal at the 70th minute, when H. Yamami, who came on as a replacement for K. Kurokawa, scored from an assist by K. Yanagisawa, bringing the scoreline to 5 – 2 with PSG still in the lead.
During the last ten minutes of the game, Paris Saint Germain got awarded another penalty and Kylian Mbappe did justice to it to crown the scores 6 – 2 and the game came to an end shortly afterwards.
